Crown Count · last updated 31 August 2026
Crown Count is a leaderboard for groups of friends, run by one person as a personal project. This page says exactly what it holds about you and how to get rid of it. It is short because the app does very little with your data.
What it keeps
- Your account — a username, the display name you choose, your email address, and the date you joined.
- Your password, as a scrypt hash. The password itself is never stored and cannot be recovered by anyone, including whoever runs this.
- What you log — the numbers you enter, which events they are for, when you entered them, and who vouched for them.
- Your groups — which boards you belong to and whether you run them.
- Failed sign-in attempts — a username and a timestamp, kept for 30 days, used only to slow down password guessing.
What it does not
No analytics. No tracking pixels. No advertising. No location. No payment details. No third-party trackers, and no third-party scripts or fonts of any kind. Nothing is sold or shared for marketing, because there is nobody to sell it to and no marketing to do.
Cookies
One, called crown_session. It keeps you signed in and nothing else. It cannot be read by JavaScript and carries no information about you beyond which account it belongs to. There are no tracking cookies, so there is no cookie banner to dismiss.
Who else can see it
- Vercel hosts the site and keeps ordinary server logs, which include IP addresses.
- Neon stores the database.
- Resend sends the email. It receives your address and the contents of confirmation and password-reset messages. Nothing else is ever emailed to you.
All of these are in the United States. There is nobody else: the typefaces are served from this site rather than from Google, so your browser makes no request to any other company at all while you use Crown Count.
What other people see
A board can be read by anyone with the link, whether or not they have an account. What they see is the display name you chose and the numbers you have logged. Your email address and your username are never shown on a board.
Pick a display name you are happy for strangers to read. If you would rather your name were not visible, use a nickname.
How long it is kept
Until you delete your account. Password-reset and email-confirmation links expire and are discarded. Failed sign-in records are deleted after 30 days. Backups may hold a copy for a short period after deletion.
What you can do
- See it — “Download my data” gives you everything held about you as a file.
- Correct it — your display name, username and email can all be changed from the board.
- Delete it — “Delete my account” removes everything, everywhere, and cannot be undone.
All three are in the app. You do not have to ask anybody.
Children
Crown Count is not intended for anyone under 13, and accounts are not knowingly created for them.
Changes
If this page changes in a way that matters, the date at the top changes with it.
Questions, or you want your data removed and cannot do it yourself? Ask whoever invited you to your group — they can reach the person who runs this.
